> Third, from "three tracks" onward, matching with the three dharmas in terms of principle. The five precepts are principle itself; every cessation and every action tallies with the perfectly fused three dharmas. If one wishes to correlate them individually, the principle also holds: non-killing of sentient beings accords with the principle of permanence, which is the track of true nature. Non-unchastity purifies the mind, and non-drinking clarifies wisdom, which is the track of contemplative illumination. Non-false speech produces their trust and compliance, and non-stealing preserves the requisites of others, which is the track of supporting conditions. Since they are the three tracks, they secretly unite with all three dharmas; therefore we know that the five precepts subsume all dharmas without remainder.
