- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [4.116](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1786.4.116)

> First, distinguishing their numbers in terms of unfolding. Unfolding form into ten refers to the five faculties and the five sense objects. A "small portion": the dharma base subsumes two kinds of dharmas: first, mental dharmas, excluding the primary mind and taking only the associated mental factors; second, non-mental dharmas, namely past and future form dharmas, the dharmas non-associated with mind, and the three unconditioned dharmas. What is here called a "small portion" is past and future form among the non-mental dharmas. Unfolding mind into two refers to the mind base and the dharma base. However, in the dharma base it is also only a small portion, meaning that between the two kinds in the dharma base it subsumes only mental dharmas. Saying "two" here is just citing the full count for the time being.
