> The commentary says: Defining the essential nature of the three bodies is divided into three sections. Regarding the essential nature of this transformation body: first, setting up the question; second, the Buddha gives the answer; third, concluding both. This is the first part. In speaking of 'bodhisattva', it addresses the ready capacity. The two vehicles of determined nature cannot aspire to and seek this, so he asks about the bodhisattva. Although all three vehicles can be called bodhisattvas, that is not the intention of the question. He asks how Mahāyāna bodhisattvas fully understand it, wishing to cause them to aspire to, cultivate, and seek it with joy. That is, there are two questions: first, how is it a bodhisattva? Second, how is it fully understood?
