- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [4.34](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1788.4.34)

> Below is the explanation. First, they cannot be grasped or spoken of; afterwards, from "Because they cannot be apprehended..." onward, it explains how the profound meaning can be known. Within the first there are three parts: first the explanation, next the query, and afterwards the resolution. This is the explanation. First, the three periods of time clarify the essence of bodhi as tathatā. Next, "the mind is also like this" is that which realizes. Earlier, "mind" was the mind of the ultimate truth; later, "mind" is the mind of conditioning factors. "Sentient beings are also like this" clarifies the emptiness of persons. "Within them the two characteristics are truly unapprehensible" explains collectively that the two selves are both unapprehensible. This is the same as the \*Mañjuśrī-paripṛcchā-bodhicitta-sūtra\*, relying upon the imaginary \[nature\].
