> Sūtra: “Good son! Furthermore, relying on five dharmas, a bodhisattva mahāsattva accomplishes the patience (kṣānti) pāramitā. What are the five? First, being able to subdue the afflictions of greed and anger; second, not sparing bodily life and not seeking thoughts of rest and ease; third, reflecting on past karma and being able to endure when encountering suffering; fourth, generating the mind of love and compassion to accomplish all the wholesome roots of sentient beings; fifth, for the sake of attaining the profound patience of the non-arising of phenomena (anutpattikadharmakṣānti). Good son! This is called a bodhisattva mahāsattva accomplishing the patience pāramitā.”
