- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [5.17](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1788.5.17)

> Commentary: Below, they recount their own practice. There are four parts: first, the kings themselves govern correctly and can personally propagate the sūtra; second, from "We cause those..." onward, all ministers and attendants follow along in cultivating correct practice; third, from "blocking and expelling..." onward, the Dharma kings can eradicate evil; fourth, from "World-Honoured One..." onward, it explains how the kings obtained their title. The meaning explains that because they propagate the true Dharma to transform sentient beings, their name and practice are not in vain, and thus they are called the Protectors of the World. As for the twenty-eight classes, as stated in the Peacock King Sūtra, there are four in each of the four cardinal directions, one in each of the four intermediate directions, and four in each of above and below, making twenty-eight classes. With pure divine eyes: these are not produced through cultivation, but obtained as karmic retribution, and therefore surpass those of humans.
