The text is divided into three: first, the praise; next, from "you all" onwards, the seal of approval; from "if there are bhikṣus" onwards, the exhortation. In the exhortation: first it exhorts the four assemblies. If they are able to protect the Dharma, they obtain blessings identical to those before. Practicing the ten Dharmic practices is entirely protecting the Dharma; of these ten Dharmic practices, four are briefly cited: first, making offerings; second, transcribing; third, circulating, which means giving to others; fourth, explaining, which means expounding. Listening, reading, receiving and upholding, reciting, contemplating, and practicing are all subsumed under revering; because one reveres the Dharma, one listens to it, and so forth.
