> This passage speaks of the fault of grasping by following words. Principles such as non-arising and non-cessation, although all nominal designations of the nature of reality, will lead to the eternalist view if asserted to be real entities, and to the annihilationist view if asserted to be real nonexistence—how much more so for other \[terms\]? "By different affirmations, there are different vikalpas" means that due to the distinct affirmations of discursive speech, one produces attachments of different vikalpas, just as upon seeing illusory phenomena one grasps them as real; this is the view of ordinary fools, not of the noble and wise.
