> This shows that the yakṣa king, through contemplation in accordance with reality, immediately awakened, realized that there is only one's own mind, and abided in non-discriminative wisdom. What is called "attaining sight in accordance with reality, not following another's awakening" means that although delusion and awakening have many branches, there is no other dharma: when deluded, one is deluded about objects as things; when awakened, one realizes that objects are the mind. Awakening is simply awakening to delusion; there is no separate awakening coming from outside, hence it is said "not following another's awakening." "Able with his own wisdom to skillfully contemplate, forever leaving behind conjectures and false interpretations" means that the principle is suddenly awakened to, and relying on awakening all \[delusions\] are eliminated together; if one forms superior notions, one falls into various heresies; only by contemplating with skillful wisdom will there be no mind of superior notions. "Well understanding expedients, skillfully knowing the characteristics of advancement upon the stages" means that having awakened in accordance with reality and further mastered skillful expedients, then from beginning to end of the stages there are never any devious characteristics. Therefore he delights in leaving behind the false views of the mind-consciousness and directly advancing toward the Buddha stage. The meaning of the three continuities will be explained in detail below.
