世間諸法不出五陰，此又約五陰以明名句文身也。句身如足跡者，謂如世人失象馬者，尋跡以得之。故昧實相者，亦因言而悟。是名句身，色陰相顯，故以跡言。四蘊者，受想行識也，非有形兆故以名說。若照見本寂，是皆實相也。二由文顯勸應修學。古聖因是悟入者，故捨全身，以求半偈。

> \[The commentary says:\] The phenomena of the world do not go beyond the five skandhas; here again the collections of names, phrases, and syllables are clarified in terms of the five skandhas. A collection of phrases being like footprints means: just as people in the world who lose an elephant or horse find it by tracking footprints, so those who are ignorant of dharmatā are also awakened through words. This is called a collection of phrases; the characteristics of the form skandha are apparent, so it is spoken of using 'footprints'. The four skandhas are sensation, perception, volition, and consciousness; because they have no physical form, they are spoken of using names. If one illuminates and sees that they are fundamentally tranquil, these are all dharmatā. Both are revealed by syllables, and he encourages that one should cultivate and study them. Because ancient noble ones awakened and entered through this, they gave up their entire bodies to seek half a verse.
