> Second, revealing the essence: Generosity takes non-greed and the three actions arising from it as its nature; moral discipline takes the three actions when receiving and training in the bodhisattva precepts as its nature; patience takes non-anger, diligence, and examining wisdom, along with the three actions arising from them, as its nature; energetic advance takes striving and the three actions arising from it as its nature; quiet meditation solely takes concentration (samādhi) as its nature; wisdom takes discrimination of dharmas (dharmapravicaya) as its nature. When expanded into ten perfections, the corresponding four also take discrimination of dharmas as their nature, because they are spoken of as fundamental and subsequent wisdom.
