- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.432](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1795.1.432)

如人乍至川原，或入聚落，忽然心惑，以東為西。既一方迷，餘三俱轉，故云易處。然正迷之時，方亦不轉，忽然醒悟，還是舊方。反推此迷，了無蹤迹，無本來處，無今去處。

> Just as when someone suddenly arrives at a plain or river valley, or enters a settlement, their mind is suddenly bewildered and mistakes east for west. Once one direction is confused, the other three all shift with it; hence it is called 'transposing the directions.' Yet at the very time of confusion, the directions have not actually shifted; when one suddenly wakes and realizes, they are still the original directions. Reflecting back on this confusion, it has no trace whatsoever: it has no place from which it originally came, nor any place to which it now goes.
