> Within the text there are two parts: first, inquiring into and explaining the application of mind; second, broadly elucidating the characteristics of practice. The reason for this is that because the principles of awakening and cultivation are difficult to clarify in terms of unity and difference, their intention actually harmonizes while their words seem contradictory. Therefore, it is necessary to inquire into and explain them so that one understands how to apply the mind, and then, in accordance with the nature and conditions, broadly elucidate the characteristics of practice for them. Now, within the text of the first part on inquiring and explaining, the major division of four sections is no different from the initial gateway. The three aspects of requesting instruction are also the same as listed before.
