> The following hearing, perceiving, and so forth, following this pattern, are all called 'dust.' This means that because of the calculations and attachments of the mind of self, one sees all forms and marks; because of clinging to marks, seeing and the rest are themselves 'dust.' It does not refer solely to external forms and the rest as dust, nor does it refer exclusively to faculties and consciousnesses as dust, because the faculties, dusts, and consciousnesses each have their own explicit text. Tracing the substance of this dust of seeing and the rest, it is still the mind of self-grasping, but different names are established according to where grasping marks produces faults. Moreover, they do not have a separate substance apart from the three—faculties, objects, and consciousnesses; one knows that the dharmas of the five aggregates and the self within the aggregates are neither different nor identical.
