> When bodhisattvas are on the causal ground, they must make vows to save sentient beings. Riding this vow-power, wherever they are born, they never regress. If the mind becomes weary, they immediately recall their past vow-power to encourage themselves; their deeds do not follow personal sentiments; hence it says "all relying on vow-power." Moreover, it does not anticipate repayment of kindness, nor is it compassion of affectionate views; hence it is called "pure." As for "beginningless," identical-essence great compassion and nature-conforming great vows are inherently possessed in the nature itself, not something newly obtained separately. It is only according to delusion or awakening that they are generated or not generated; when generated, they are beginningless.
