- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [10.10](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1796.10.10)

> Furthermore, this mantra takes the syllable A as its essence, which is the meaning of originally unborn. "Born" refers to all the cyclical dharmas of birth, old age, sickness, and death; their essence is constantly and naturally unborn, which is the meaning of the syllable A. Because he knows that the intrinsic nature of all dharmas is unborn, therefore for all sentient beings he is unsurpassable, supreme, and peerless. Furthermore, because he can know that the essence of dharmas is unborn, he thoroughly discerns all mental natures of the multitude of capacities, clearly perceiving them without anything not understood, and accomplishes them according to what they ought to attain. This is the highest among maitrī, universally bestowed upon sentient beings without exhaustion. Therefore, if there are sentient beings who can penetrate, uphold, recite, and practice the cultivation of this Dharma, before long they will become equal to the practice of Maitreya.
