> The sūtra says: 'Up to the personal experiential realization of the signless samādhi.' This means that such marks as cause and effect exist due to false discrimination. When properly examined, they originally have nowhere to abide; because they have no abiding, the essence of the effect does not arise, which is identical to the unconditioned. Therefore, if a practitioner thinks: 'I recite mantras and cultivate mantra practice, and shall attain the fruit of accomplishment,' they merely deceive themselves. Although these mantras arise from conditions, they are truly uncreated; from the beginning they are originally the dharmadhātu, without arising or perishing, neither defiled nor pure. The essence of phenomena being thus, how could there be anything to accomplish?
