大毘盧遮那成佛經疏 8.33

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [8.33](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1796.8.33)

> The above Sanskrit saddharma is translated as 'correct Dharma' or 'sublime Dharma'; to complete the verse line, both are preserved here. For 'congruent' here, the Sanskrit yukta has the meaning of 'fitting and matching in this way'—that is, the sense of agreeing and covertly tallying—which is slightly different from yoga. In the next line, because extensively hearing this Dharma results in practice tallying with principle, which is a great celebration, it is called the 'felicity of extensive learning'. According to the correct translation, it should be called 'rich in hearing'; here we follow the old translation. Furthermore, for this 'worthy of offerings' (arhat / arcya), the Sanskrit name is different from arhat; this 'worthy of offerings' means that devas, humans, and others ought to make offerings to it in seeking merit. The beginning of the second verse says 'rich', which has the same meaning as 'rich in hearing' before, also meaning complete and lacking nothing—rich in auspiciousness, rich in modesty and shame, rich in merit. The final line says 'assembly', which is merely a designation of multiplicity; the Sanskrit name is different from saṅgha, as saṅgha also has the connotation of harmony. Because the treasury of the correct Dharma appears in the world, there are people who practice towards the fruits and attain them; hence it is called the 'third wholesome felicity'.
