> This concludes Ānanda's replies regarding the body and objects. The hand has opening and closing, and the head shakes and moves on its own; the body and its objects, the guest and the dust, are identical in arising and ceasing, with no difference between them. One should know that a guest must have a host, and where dust is, there is space. Contrasting the seeing of the Buddha's hand and comparing it with the nature \[watching\] the moving head, it has never moved or been still; how could it come or go? Synthesizing before and after, their principle is one and the same.
