- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.132](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1799.3.132)

> Refuting its being born from space. The first three lines cite the assertion and examine the flavor; from 'if empty space inevitably' onward is the direct refutation. The first four lines show that both body and face would be salty, and the next two lines show that the saltiness would make one identical to marine life: if both are salty, there is no difference from ocean fish. From 'constantly experiencing' onward is the conditional refutation. The first four lines mutually negate and both vanish: even granting that you constantly experience saltiness, you would ultimately be unable to know blandness; if there were no bland flavor, how could saltiness be manifested? Neither blandness nor saltiness could be established. The last two lines from 'if they inevitably' conclude that this is not knowing flavor: since saltiness and blandness cannot be distinguished, it cannot be called knowing flavor.
