- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [4.101](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1799.4.101)

胎、卵有情要因父母同業相感，故云同業相纏。濕、化有情但因自己情想合離，合處濕生，離處化生，不由父母同業相感，故云合離成化。化即生之總名也，皆名變化故。

> Womb-born and egg-born sentient beings must rely on the shared karma of father and mother mutually inducing one another; hence it is said, "entangled by shared karma." Moisture-born and transformation-born sentient beings arise solely from the union and separation of their own emotional thoughts: where there is union, moisture-birth occurs; where there is separation, transformation-birth occurs; they do not depend on the mutual inducement of shared karma from father and mother; hence it is said, "uniting and separating effect transformation." 'Transformation' is the general name for birth, because all are called change and transformation.
