> Although from the initial mind up to this Equal Enlightenment one uniformly employs the vajra samādhi to contemplate all dharmas as illusion-like and so forth, yet upon reaching this stage one is able to shatter the final, subtle avidyā; this is the utmost boundary of this samādhi, its power and function fully satisfied, distinctly receiving the name 'vajra mind'. This is the very beginning of the mind entering Wonderful Enlightenment, belonging to the uninterrupted path, directly named Equal Enlightenment; hence it is said, 'begins to obtain the vajra mind.' This is what the Vijñaptimātra refers to: 'When the vajra-like concentration manifests, one severs the hindrance to the buddha-ground and immediately enters Wonderful Enlightenment.'
