- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.55](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1801.2.55)

> From "renouncing the six" downward marks and indicates the meaning of vigor. It should say "the sense object of form and the eye faculty"; saying "six" is a generalized mention. From "also regarding" downward clarifies the meaning in terms of the four teachings. "And so on" means: the Tripiṭaka understands the arising and ceasing of faculty and object; the shared understands them as identical to emptiness and thus does not defile or mix them; the distinct does not defile or mix them with emptiness; the perfect does not defile or mix them with the two extremes—this is the meaning of diligence.
