> The red circles on the outside represent the marks of the natural boundary. If the saṃgha is assembled within the ordination platform first, they should also be assembled from all four directions. What is laid out in the diagram is based on assembling the saṃgha naturally at the time of demarcating the great boundary. For the northern red circle, the saṃgha outside the compound is sixty-three paces away from the saṃgha in the center who are demarcating the boundary. The distance between the central saṃgha and the saṃgha outside the boundary of the southern circle is also the same. The two groups of saṃgha to the north and south are one hundred and twenty-six paces apart. Each achieves a valid karman. If within, it is invalid. And so on for the remaining directions, all following this standard. Once the demarcation has been performed, the distance follows the landmark markers. This is tentatively spoken based on an indistinguishable settlement. If it is a distinguishable settlement, or even road travel or a water boundary, the distances of the five marks and their distinctions by category are all as explained previously in the section on 'Assembling the Saṃgha'.
