> The Samantapāsādikā states: 'On the precept platform, no rooms may be erected. Even if a king erects them, bhikṣus who possess shame and conscience must dismantle them; the remaining timber and grass are sent to the bhikṣus residing in the monastery. Only a Buddha hall and trees may be placed there.' In foreign countries, precept platforms are mostly in open ground, like secular altars for sacrificial worship in the suburbs; hence in the Vinaya it is sometimes called a precept altar. In the Wubai wen: 'If rain is encountered during ordination, if one is to move the precept platform under a roof, one must first dissolve the great boundary, and then re-demarcate the precept platform and demarcate the great boundary before it is valid.' The dissolution of the three small boundaries follows the previous demarcation procedure.
