> Second, explaining non-loss, briefly stating five kinds: First, illegitimate dissolution with an evil mind does not cause loss. The Vinaya says: 'Dissolving the pure ground with an evil mind is ineffective'; the others follow this analogy. Second, mutual demarcation by monks and nuns. The Samantapāsādikā states: 'When a bhikṣu demarcates a boundary over a nun's boundary, it is not lost, and the nuns likewise achieve success.' Third, where central and peripheral regions do not understand each other's language, they also re-demarcate over one another. Fourth, loss of boundary markers, as in the Samantapāsādikā. Fifth, emptiness of the original place. The Wubai wen says: 'Demarcating a combined boundary between fully ordained monks and nuns is permitted, but they must not interlace.'
