> Fifth, the cart boundary; sixth, the boat boundary; both are on dry land. The Vinaya states: 'The place where a cart or boat turns around.' This merely clarifies a stationary cart. The Daśādhyāya-vinaya: 'For moving carts, the reach of a staff from the front cart toward the middle cart, the reach of a staff from the middle cart toward the front and rear carts, and the reach of a staff from the rear cart toward the middle cart; if it does not reach, it is called a different boundary.' The Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya: 'When boats are loaded on water, there are many resting places; if one moves back and forth at will, not assembling incurs no offense; the opposite of this constitutes an offense.'
