Five conditions: first, it is saṃgha property; second, it is in a sheltered place; third, spreading it oneself or having someone else do so; fourth, neither gathering it up oneself nor instructing someone to gather it up; fifth, crossing the boundary or exceeding three nights, whereupon one incurs the offense.
