> The Daśādhyāya-vinaya states: If impure fat or ghee adheres to a bowl, and one receives parched flour food, it should be poured into a pure bowl to eat, and that adhering to the bowl discarded. If a bowl stitched with cord receives gruel and grease seeps out, discard only the greasy portion, and the rest may be eaten. If a newly smoked bowl and the hands are smeared with ghee, fat, or oil, wash them two or three times with bath powder; if the remaining greasy smell has not completely dissipated, it is still designated pure. Eating impure leftover overnight salt incurs a duṣkṛta (the same offense as in the Dharmaguptaka Vinaya). The Saṃghabhedavastu commentary states: If it cannot be removed because of residual grease, it is not considered greasy food.
