> In abolishing ancient views: Stating that the Vinaya lacks it is due to omissions in translation and transmission. From “old” onward, it cites an ancient commentary, pointing to Master Guang; Tantidi's text was also like this. From “now” onward, it points out the error. Because previously the great boundary cited the revocation of the two commonalities, the established platform was originally neither for poṣadha nor pravāraṇā, nor was it a dwelling place; thus, since the previous binding did not cite it, how could the subsequent revocation mention it? The Commentary also mentions other masters using the three small \[boundaries\] for revocation, refuting them by saying that the three small boundaries have no landmarks and perform legal acts on a single mat, so how could they be compared to it? From “now according to” onward, it reveals what is correct. Following the “calamitous matter” refers to the small boundary. If so, how does it differ from other masters? They used the text of the revocation procedure, whereas now it relies on the principle of mutual reversal; hence they are not the same.
