> When a nun renounces the precepts and comes back, she does not steal appearance or Dharma; strictly speaking, it is not living as a thief. However, because the Buddha prohibited nuns from receiving ordination a second time, she violated this by renouncing them; looking back to her former presence on the path, it is equivalent to stealing the Dharma, and hence it is called living as a thief. Although different from the former, in terms of fault it is shown to be the same.
