> In "Non-offenses", there are three. Regarding "black rock sugar", an ancient record says: it is boiled from cane sugar mixed with glutinous rice, and its hardness is like rock. This explains that as a seven-day medicine, although it incorporates timely food, it is permitted to be consumed past noon. As for permitting barley juice when ill: although it resembles timely gruel, it is permitted because it is clear and strained. The formal declarations for the above two are as previously permitted; this is based on receiving it directly for temporary use. The pronunciation of 哯 is yan; it means vomiting. The exception text is not explicit, so the treatise is cited to decide it.
