> In the third, the Samantapāsādikā generally lists four realms; if ghosts include asuras and hells, then there are six realms. The three vinayas from the Mahīśāsaka-vinaya downward separately enumerate three realms, matching the treatise text above. In the Mahāsāṃghika-vinaya, it is the Buddha receiving honey from a monkey. In the Daśādhyāya-vinaya, the Venerable Maudgalyāyana and the śrāmaṇera Śroṇa-Koṭīkarṇa both received food from them; as for the remaining heavy hells, in principle there is no receiving from them. "According to..." onwards makes a general determination, which is precisely the meaning of the preceding Vinayadvāviṃśatividyā-śāstra.
