第二僧殘，《善見》中。唯就行懺，釋其名義。僧伽是通，貫於前後；初殘是別，即命懺時首尾二法，以攝中間。合云：僧伽為眾；然此所尚，呼人為僧；故此諸文，用梵顯梵，非相翻也。言從境者，境即所對人也。

> Second, saṃghāvaśeṣa. In the \*Samantapāsādikā\*, it explains its name and meaning solely in terms of practicing repentance. 'Saṃgha' is general, running through before and after; the initial 'avaśeṣa' (remainder) is specific, being the two dharmas at the head and tail when life is repented, thereby subsuming the middle. Combined, it should say: 'saṃgha' means assembly; however, in this context, the convention is to call a person 'saṃgha'. Therefore, these various texts use Sanskrit to explain Sanskrit, rather than translating mutually. Saying 'following the object' means the object is the person faced.
