> For seven-day \[medicine\], further adding one pāyattika for the offense of forfeiture and one duṣkṛta for consuming it, there are thus five offenses. The Precept Commentary only generates four offenses; it says that someone established five, referring to consuming this medicine. The present explanation is not so: if consumed there is an offense, but if not consumed there is no fault; it is unlike the above four where offenses arise without consumption. Thus we know that the present Transactions Manual still retains the old explanation.
