It must not be placed where tiles or stones fall, leaned under a staff or knife, placed under hanging objects, on a road, on a stone, under a fruit tree, or on uneven ground; it must not be placed within a doorway or window, beneath a door leaf, or under a bed or bedpost, except temporarily. It must not be placed between two beds, nor should one stand and swing the bowl, or even use one's feet such that it breaks. He must not intentionally damage it, intentionally lose it, or use it for non-bowl purposes; doing so is a duṣkṛta.
