- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.25](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1811.2.25)

> Tenth, the precept against storing weapons of killing: it is established because it harms compassion. All seven assemblies commit the offense alike; both the Great and Small \[Vehicles\] prescribe against it. The narration of matters has three layers: first, one should not store them; second, adducing an analogy; third, adducing the wrongdoing and concluding the offense. Even for the murder of one's parents, one does not think of revenge; how much less should one store weapons of killing with the intention of harming sentient beings? Fishing nets, cords, traps, nets, and the like are prohibited for both monastics and laypeople. Swords, traps, bows, and arrows were traditionally permitted for kings, princes, and the like.
