> Third, from 'Yet' downward, it directly explains the adjudication of offenses for violating the proscription. Within this, it first explains that violating the proscription has four aspects: 1. Not giving rise to practices of loving-kindness toward sentient beings is already a great fault, how much more performing acts of killing? Killing is already grave, how much more with a mind of theft? A mind of theft is gravest, how much more taking delight in it? Therefore, this killing is the most extremely grave. Furthermore, 'a mind of theft' means the mind of killing is boundless, diffusely focusing on all objects with a mind that is never insatiable. 'Taking delight' means the mind of killing is fierce and flourishing, bold and swift, gratifying one's feelings, uninterrupted through the three times. Below, 'is a bodhisattva pārājika' concludes by indicating the name of the offense, as previously explained. The above concludes the explanation of the precept against killing.
