> Under section five, non-lapse, there are two parts: first, a query; second, an elucidation. In the elucidation there are two parts: first, explaining the meaning of non-lapse; second, pointing to the sūtra text. Having the conceptually constructed nature is called superimposition; lacking the dependent and consummate natures is called deprecation—this is Asaṅga's interpretation. According to Nāgārjuna's interpretation, clinging to the existence of conventional truth is superimposition, and rejecting ultimate truth is deprecation; furthermore, because within ultimate truth it is neither non-existent nor existent, clinging to existence is superimposition and clinging to non-existence is deprecation.
