> Regarding the words "ocean of perfect awakening": First, the dharmakāya Buddha pervades all places, as vast as an ocean; therefore the Samantabhadra Meditation Sūtra states, "Vairocana is in all places." Second, it is as deep as an ocean, meaning that the seven eloquence-faculties cannot explain it and the five eyes lose their illumination; therefore it is called deep. Third, it is of single taste like the ocean: the equal dharmakāya is one body like a single taste. Fourth, the dharmakāya possesses all merits, just as the ocean is provided with all treasures. The remaining Dharma and Saṃgha are easy to understand.
