This is stated provisionally with respect to the initial \[stages\], speaking only of two moments. The subsequent thirteen moments may also all become the objective domain of the knowledge of others' minds. Question: Having known the first two mental moments, why does one not immediately know the subsequent-category mind and so forth of the third moment? The explanation is: dharma and subsequent are not the same, and their objective domains are distinct; hence one cannot know it. If, in order to further know the subsequent-category mind, one separately undertakes preparatory practice, it takes thirteen moments to bring preparatory practice to completion.
