- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.13](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1821.3.13)

> "The five feelings, beginning with pleasure... \[up to\] because they foster it": this explains the third and fourth lines. The five feelings have sovereign efficacy regarding defilement, because the anuśayas such as greed comply with and foster them. They comply with and foster them either through association or through intentional object. Although these five feelings are also found in wholesome states, their efficacy in defilement is predominant, so they are said to have sovereignty regarding defilement. That the five faculties beginning with faith and the three undefiled faculties have sovereignty regarding purification is self-evident.
