> Regarding the passage from "The commentary says..." up to "...Paranirmitavaśavartin": within the prose, first, the text of the verse is explained; second, distinctions are made through questions and answers. Below, this directly explains the text of the verse. Six heavens possess sensual desire, hence they are called the six heavens of the desire realm. The sixteenth fascicle of the Samayapradīpikā says: "Only the six heavens of the desire realm experience exquisite objects of desire." As for the six heavens of the desire realm: First, the heaven of the retinue of the four great kings (Cāturmahārājakāyika). That is to say, there are the four great kings and the retinue they lead; or, the divine retinue there serves the four great kings, because they are led by the four great kings. Second, the heaven of the thirty-three (Trāyastriṃśa). That is to say, that heavenly abode is where thirty-three groups of deities reside: on the summit of Mount Meru, there are eight groups of divine retinues on each of the four sides, and in the center there is one, namely the divine sovereign Indra (Śakra); thus there are thirty-three. Third, the Yāma heaven. Here translated as "divisions of time"; that is to say, in that heavenly place, at each time they mostly acclaim, "Oh, joyful bliss!" Fourth, the Tuṣita heaven. Here translated as "contentment"; that is to say, in that heavenly place, they mostly generate minds of joy and contentment regarding what they receive and experience. Fifth, the heaven of delighting in creations (Nirmāṇarati). That is to say, in that heavenly place, they delight in repeatedly conjuring objects of desire and experiencing pleasure therein. Sixth, the heaven of making mastery over the creations of others (Paranirmitavaśavartin). That is to say, in that heavenly place, they freely experience pleasure regarding objects of desire conjured by others.
