> "After the relinking consciousness... based on establishing it when complete": after consciousness and before the six sense bases, all the five aggregates in the intervening stages are collectively called 'name-and-form'. Because name-and-form is predominant, it is distinctively designated by this name. Regarding "stages", Mahāvibhāṣā 23 says: "The five intervening stages are kalala, arbuda, peśī, ghana, and praśākhā; these are the stage of name-and-form." According to the text of the Mahāvibhāṣā, the kalala extends over many moments. In the stage of name-and-form, the body and mind have already arisen; here, it should be said 'before the arising of the four bases', but it says 'before the six' based on establishing it when the six sense bases are complete.
