Herein there are three parts: first, explaining the inhabited receptacle; second, explaining the measure of the inhabitants; third, explaining the boundaries. Within explaining the inhabited receptacle: first, separately clarifying the minor receptacle; second, collectively clarifying the great trichiliocosm. Within separately clarifying the minor receptacle: first, clarifying the three discs (maṇḍala); second, clarifying the nine mountains; third, clarifying the eight seas; fourth, clarifying the four continents; fifth, the Black Mountains and so forth; sixth, clarifying the hells; seventh, clarifying the sun and moon; eighth, clarifying the celestial receptacles. The following three lines of verse firstly clarify the three discs.
