- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [12.81](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1822.12.81)

> On the Śāstra's words, "Those called 'Solitary Enlightened' ... because they do not train others": This explains the name 'Solitary Enlightened' (pratyekabuddha) as having two meanings: first, upon attaining the fruit, they do not rely on the supreme teaching; second, having already attained the fruit, they do not awaken others. Possessing these two meanings, they are called 'Solitary Enlightened'; it is not that in the causal state they did not rely on teachings.
