- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [17.6](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1822.17.6)

> On the Śāstra's stating: "Therefore herein \[...\] because both are thoroughly established", this explains that the name karmapatha here applies to both categories. The first seven possess both—namely, they are both karma and karmapathas; the latter three possess only one—namely, they are karmapathas alone. Although they are not of the same category, a single name, karmapatha, applies to both places due to common usage, and so both categories together receive the name karmapatha. As for "like worldly scriptures", the Nyāyānusāra states: "Worldly chronicles (lokāyata). In worldly chronicles as well, they are not of the same category, yet one serves to share a common designation with the other; just as in heaven and on earth, distinct categories share the same name 'form' and so forth."
