> On "The Śāstra says: ... retrogressing from detachment from desire": Here, it first explains abandonment, and afterward explains acquisition. Within abandonment, there are abandoning one, abandoning two, abandoning five, and abandoning six; there is no abandoning three or four. This is the first, explaining the abandonment of one. Within this, there are three positions: namely, retrogressing from the stage of non-learning, one abandons the parijñā of the exhaustion of all fetters; retrogressing from the exhaustion of attachment to form, one abandons the parijñā of the exhaustion of attachment to form; retrogressing from complete detachment from desire, one abandons the parijñā of the exhaustion of the five lower fetters. In each of these three positions, one abandons one.
