- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [8.207](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1822.8.207)

> \[On the\] Śāstra's \[words\], "The intention of this sūtra is to rule out... is definitely experienced in the next birth": the master of the treatise resolves the sūtra. Within this, there are three parts: first, a direct explanation; second, a counter-refutation; third, rebuking their confusion over the text. This is the direct explanation. The word "without interval" (anantara) has two meanings: first, one is definitely born in hell and is not interrupted by going to any other destiny; hence it is called "without interval". Second, the retribution of the next birth is definite and is not interrupted by another life; hence it is called "without interval". It does not mean being without the interval of an intermediate existence.
