俱舍論疏 8.208

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [8.208](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1822.8.208)

> \[On the\] Śāstra's \[words\], "If one merely clings to the literal text... without waiting for the breaking up of the body": this is the second part, the counter-refutation. There are two explanations: first, if because the sūtra says "without interval", they do not accept an intermediate existence, then when the sūtra says that by five uninterrupted (ānantarya) karmas one is born in hell, one would necessarily have to possess all five uninterrupted karmas to be born there, and lacking \[even one\] one would not be born there. This is the first point. If only the five uninterrupted karmas cause birth in hell and other evil karmas do not cause birth in hell, this would be a major flaw. This is the second point. The sūtra says that immediately upon committing the karma one is born in hell; therefore, having committed the karma one would immediately be born in hell, without waiting for the breaking up of the body, the end-of-life mind, and so forth, to be born in hell. This is the third point.
